Manoel Costa
was born on the state of Pará, Brazil.
The son of a canoeing. In his childhood he lived in
the forests, watching the landscape and also jungle's
many dangers.
Then one day, he heard a sweet music of the world around
him, and after that the passion of registering forms
and colors stroke like a thunder. This is how painting
and art entered his life: to capture not only the beauty
around him, but the magnetism of the landscape.

His self made effort overcame his cultural environment
limitations. He was awarded a scholarship on the Fine
Art School of Rio de Janeiro. Finally, Manoel Costa
was really able to express his vocation. Not even a
victorious passage in publicity was able to apart him
from art. During his life, he sees his painting as a
ongoing search for his own truth, exploring many different
languages such as abstract, a sort of expressionism
that liberates objective and real references and promotes
a different style of drawing with and a color freedom.
Now, fully matured, Manoel Costa's work is documented
in the World Wide Web with the intention to make his
most deepest dream come true, which is to open his art
and his world to foreign countries. Until now he has
basically aimed Brazil.
Manoel Costa's own words
"I could say that my painting has charisma, that my
themes identifies with observer, but I think it is more
than that, there is a visual aspect that creates a unique
emotion inside the observer. This is my great secret,
although not even I have the formula. I tried very hard
to exclude myself and my work from all tendencies, niches
and started to work the most magical element of painting,
which is color. Color is the single most important aspect
of my work, everything else is secondary. Each primary
color has infinite variations and I work with these
variations multiplying the tonal spectrum. I don't use
pure colors, I work them until they fascinate me and
then I magnetize my observer."
